Drinks, Koi, Pinups, Peacock feathers and Octopus

Hey all, welcome back, another busy week at Modern Body Art, got to catch up over a few drinks with some of the lads and gal during the week, thats always fun...and start some new pieces, anyway here is an update.

I started a Koi shoulder piece, colour to follow

This pinup is going to be a fun one to colour, her first tattoo too...go big or go home :)

cover ups...i love them, especially when the client gets a course of laser removal which we strongly suggest, we do it here at Modern Body Art ( just thought i'd mention that ;)...)

Adding some shading and detail to a pair of wings Tom started before he left...one more sitting i'd say.

I'm really enjoying this piece, I got to add more texture and detail, I think it's starting to come together...

drinks with Matt, Amy, Mark, Ricardo and Chris

Thats it for another week, don't forget I'll be at the following conventions if your interested in getting tattooed by me...

Liverpool Tattoo Convention 4/5/6 May 2012
Ink for Heroes, York 23 & 24th June 2012

Life is good!

Hey how are you all?
So another busy week down, I got to meet some really cool people, start some great new pieces  and put more life into some existing one's...

Added a Samurai mask to a sleeve I have been working on...looking forward to adding some shading...

Finally the Dali elephant is finished...

Katie's owl is almost finished...loved putting the colour in...

Second session of colour on this Art Nouveau piece...

Added more detail and colour on Rachel's 'Day of the Dead' tattoo...roll on the next session.

Dream catchers are back! Thanks Tatiana for sitting so well...

Second sitting on this Geisha half sleeve...sorry about the blood, still a bit fresh, will post a better pic next session...

These next few pieces were all done on David, one of my most loyal customers!
Above is a portrait of his beautiful wife and there is a story attached to the dog portraits ( you can catch it on Youtube under dog portraits ) the final picture is a new piece we started on him of a  British woodland scene,  4 hours down 50,000.00 to go (slight exaggeration ;) )

Feel free to leave some comments, whatever you like! Would like to hear from you all...take care, see you next week.

Taking Bookings for conventions

Thought it was about time for a catch up! Things have been busy as usual at the shop..I have however had a chance to start some paintings after work that I will post on a later blog.
Whilst I have your attention I will be working at a few conventions this year..
Liverpool Tattoo Convention 4/5/6 May 2012
Ink for Heroes, York 23 & 24th June 2012
Tattoo Jam, Doncaster 12/13/14 Oct 2012
Get in touch if you're keen to get tattooed by me at any of these through Facebook or Modern Body Art Website.

This week I got to put a long awaited head on a Sikh warrior who's body was tattooed by Tom 6 months ago.

Action shot :)

Some developments to the octopus sleeve. Colour still to come..

Finished Gem's foot tattoo, she sat like a trooper..well better than me anyway!

Here is a knight piece I have nearly finished..one more sitting to go. (sorry for the bad photo, no matter how many photos I took it came out bad..it's not the tattoo, honest!)

Started another traditional piece, first sitting.

Mark sits next to me in the studio, I often spy on his work to try and steal his  awesome techniques...hasn't worked yet! Here he is working on one of his black and grey sleeves..have a look at more of his work at the MBA tattoo section.

Finally Laura and I got to get down to the Mac in Birmingham for a spot of life drawing.
Haven't done it since Australia ..Mine is the red one (hmm, think his head's too small..oh well room for improvement :)

Until next time folks..thanks for dropping by!
